My Visual Diary...

We had so much fun making dumpling for the first time......I am looking forward to try it again.

2 years ago when my Aunty gave me a bonsai, it had only 4 leaves. I diligently water the bonsai every week for 2 years and now I am beginning to see there are some signs of growing. I am happy.

Let me tell you how important they are to me...

My favourite childhood pastime is playing paperdoll and making my own paperdolls...

These are some of the sketches on the characters in my Children Picture Book. Yes, it looks like I am almost done but there are still a lot more to work on....the cover, the text, the final look and design of the book, etc, etc. Sometimes I asked myself 'Can I ever finish it?'. Oh, the story is written by Maybeline Tan (my sister); she has to draft and re-write the story many many times.....

Dad bought me a set of 6 tiny red indian dolls made of rubber when I was little. My dog Rocky loves to chew on it when I was not noticing. I used to get so mad at Rocky; I ran after him around the house to snatch back my dolls which by then were already covered with Rocky's saliva. YACK!

I found this in one of my sketchbooks over the weekend when I was doing my house-cleaning.





This is nothing new. I simply re-work on some of my older illustrations, hoping to find new inspirations from there.

One of the thing that I have always wanted to do is to fill the wall at my workspace with illustrations I did randomly over the years. These illustrations are deliberately cut-out and pasted overlapping each other on the wall. Like a virtual visual diary of mine coming to life. Also an opportunity to showcase my works without having to pay for the high rental; and no need to beg the arts council for any funding...
